Still to cold for me to fiberglass , so it’s time for seats.. I’m going with the barrel seats that Shawn has done a couple times.. . thanks for the patterns Shawn..  and finding me the bendy plywood for the backs.  Patterns worked good, very easy layout. cut backs, base’s and horse shoe’s. Glued and screwed the base and horse shoe together then put the backs on. Still need to sand and fiberglass the backs to the base’s and seal the rest.

I thought I’d like them deeper so I added 1 1/2” to the base to make them deeper... what do “ you all” think?  the one on the right is like the ones Shawn did and the one on the lift has the added part to it. Also a picture of one of Shawn’s that’s done.

I actually tried the exact same thing when I as building the seats for my Intimidator.  In the end I didn't like it and cut them off. That extra 1.5" is just like my '86 cvx18. It works fine in that boat but those seats have sliders. From what I remember it was because it was harder to get into the seat.

With 45 and sunny it’s still to cold to fiderglass but I thought I could at least put the two half’s together and see what has to be mocked up for clearance.  It all looks good and now I can see what it will look like..will have to raise up the splash well and mate it to the cover, but I think it will work!

The engine cover seems to look right at home as though its a factory build.   So what model is it proposed to be, the new GT SS Jet?  Nice work overall, and completed rather quickly.   Hope to see it in person this summer.

Very nice! I personally prefer the longer seats. Have them in the Intimidator, seating quality is much nicer than the old style buckets.

GT SS JET..? I like it.. but I think what I’m going to do is take the GT-150 emblems that are on the inside and change it to GT-JET , that way they will fit in the original emblems. My hole plan was to make it look like it was something that Glastron “could” have done. That’s why I’m trying to use all Glastron parts.  Seats are at the upholstery shop now and I’m going with the short version. There just isn’t a lot of room in the boat. And they will only be on about 2” off the floor.

Very nice, cool subtle colors.  Will look like factory made, tell folks it's a one only prototype.

In all my projects I’ve done over the years, cars and boats this is only the second time I’ve done paint myself. Maybe next time I’ll try gel.. still have ALOT to learn.
