So does anyone on here know someone working law enforcement with the ability to run a VIN number?
I still hope to find some history on my '72 Chevelle Malibu convertible. It was produced in April '72 in Kansas City.
All I know is that it was imported to Germany some time around 1998.
I know it's a long shot but since there were only around 4.850 made that year I was hoping someone might remember seeing this car back in the day. I would assume there was only a handful with this color combination.
Would love to see some old pictures from when some proud teen took this car to prom. 😉
Feel free to share in any other group that you might be a member of. Gotta spread the word somehow and use the power of the internet.

To many laws in the states to have any cop give you that answer. On Facebook there is a place called lost muscle cars. That might be your only chance to find someone to help.

Yeah I thought so. But was hoping there would be some way.
Lost Muscle Cars sadly only does it the other way around. Already tried that way.

Around here the DMV drops records after ten years. There might be some companies willing to perform this research, but it would likely involve a fee. Since it was taken to Germany in 1998, is there any chance someone could research it there? If still around, would tuv have any records? Best of luck finding your treasure

I don?t want it free. ;-) I?m willing to pay for it.
Sadly in Germany they don?t keep any records of those things. I obviously know the previous owner who bought it back then. He doesn?t have anything and he bought it from a company that only sold imported American cars back then. Already gave them a call as well but there were several ownership changes so all old paperwork is long gone.
