Hey, ladies and gents! It's been a stretch since I completed my '91 CSS 19 project shared here. Spent ALL of last season running it, having a blast. Blew up/shredded my top gears twice last year. Got radared at 71mph (bone stock!!!!) twice! Still got the boat, but kids are getting bigger, and so is the dog.
SO, I picked up this 1990 CSS28 in mid December. Bought it from a guy in OK, that actually bought this boat from Albany NY around the same time I got my "little boat". It was a Lake of the Ozarks boat when new, but then spent much of its life in Lake George NY. Only to head to OK where it ran for a season and the owner opted to build up the engines. Due to health, work, age, and back problems, the owner just couldn't get it finished. So I'm on it!! Just need to wire it up, plumb it up, and clean it up. Got the Bravo 1 drives getting looked over now (after 8yrs dry, didn't want to risk anything). I've got MarineMat guy near Cincy making up some flooring, too! Hoping to get this in the water for some float test, load test, etc., mid/late April. And shake down in mid May!
Fortunately, this thing is bone dry. No structural work. Have some topside cosmetic stuff to do (8 yrs under a tarp in the heat resulted in some gelcoat shrinkage/cracking), but we'll get it running (fast), first. Then sweat the small stuff!
