CVX updated shift plate
« on: July 23, 2024, 06:57:55 AM »
I am having shift interrupter issues again this season and I am considering replacing the shift plate to the newer style interupt switch.  I would like to ask if anyone has done this on a 1980 CVX 18, Andy what do I need to do to eliminate the reverse lock out and the lines to it.   Thanks for any help or pics

As for the interrupter, find a new switch and get the linkage aligned correctly.    As for the reverse lock out, upgrading to the newer trim pumps eliminates the lock out device.  Probably find a good used one around somewhere for a good price.  I've always bought the new hoses, but I believe there might be adapters available.

I upgraded my trim pump last year to the newer style with the plastic tank.   I got mine from SEI and it has been great.    If I get the new switch and Plate can I omit those 2 lines running to the Lockout?
