I was wondering if anyone would like to join me on Sunday for one last river cruise on the St Croix. Leaves should be just right. Let me know who can make it and where we should meet /start from.
Have a great day
-
It would depend on what time as we have pumpkin picking for the kids scheduled that day (at a church's field so only one day) but I'd love to go out one more time. Perhaps the fall color will be a good draw for the wife and maybe we can get a grandparent or two to watch the littler kids.

I might be going to grand rapids, if I don't then I'm sure I can go. I'll try to find out by thursday, friday for sure. I've only ever launched at st. croix bluffs, I'd prefer somewhere farther north if anyone knows a good place.
-
The only place I have launched is just north of Stillwater. I believe it is a county launch.
-
I might be up for it! I will launch at Hudson cause it's a nice place to do so. Just shoot me a time.
-
I may be up for it. Won't know till later this week. I would launch in Hudson too.
-
Stillwater or hudson work for me, I'll see if I can make it.
-
Are we all thinking around 11 or so to let it warm up a bit or earlier?
-
whats forecast? ,Im in if t-storms arn"t forecast!
-
30% "few showers" according to the weather channel.
-
UMMMMBRELLAS !! ;D
-
Too early to tell, play it by the weather. I'm up for 11:00 or earleir.
-
I have never been on the river ,how much fuel? do we eat lunch somewhere or do ya bring lunch, anyone bringing a wife?? I just got home from Williston N.D, and we usually get there weather ,it was sunny and dry as of late yesterday ! Hope it holds true for Sunday. If it happens I would appreciate directions ,Stillwater or Hudson either works for us.
-
There are places to get fuel but 12 gallons or a full tank will be more than enough for the day. There are places to eat in prescott, afton, hudson, and stillwater via boat. There are nice beaches also to have a picnic.
Here is the Hudson Ramp: 94 east into WI. Get off on first exit. go north till you get to the light then turn left. Ramp is straight in front of you.

Sounds great, hope to be able and follow some one who knows the rlver its all new to us,our boat isn't a showpiece like most but looks good from 50 feet, alaso seems to perform better with stainless prop, lets keep fingers crossed for weather. thanks for directions and 11:00 is fine..
-
I am fine with 11 and Hudson or Stillwater works for me as well. If you launch at Hudson I just need an address or directions.
-
go back couple posts 74 gave good directions,,,up dated weather says possibly no rain ;D
-
Should we just call it 11am at the Hudson ramp. See you all tomorrow
-

-
Ya it will be me and my daughter for sure. A buddy of mine might come with and stop and eat somewhere sounds good to me.

Lucky Dog !!
-
I worked every angle I could think of to make the family's schedule work out to have time for at least a couple of hours on the river today. Unfortunately my stepdaughter threw us a couple more things she needs to do for school.... There is one last sliver of possibility, but it's remote and will be mid afternoon. If that works out I'll call Jason since I've got his cell in my phone and see if I can meet up with you guys.
If not have an awesome time and I look forward to pictures!
-
Iam in wifeless but not boatless
See around 11:00 in Hudson.

"UNBELIEVABLE" no not the great weather and great day and super nice people <<<>> No the fact that big daddy Jeff is going to treat us all to dinner on the nex't outing..... Thanks to everyone we really enjoyed this speacial day,,,gotta find a bigger boat ,felt like a bobber in some of those wakes, but hey all sissys stay home... ;D
-
The runs on the MN. river and Miss. river are much smoother with less boats.
Down side is not many nice beaches like Kinni ...
Is that a 105 on your GT ?
-
Had a great day as well Hopefully one more run this year. Nice to see everyone again.
-
After thinking about it it is big in appearance and I'm woundering too if that chrysler is a 105. That little GT goes too fast to be a 75hp.
-
Ya ... that a big 3 cyl.
-
Sorry I didn't have the time today to catch up with you guys today. I made it as far as that narrow stretch south of Afton where all the boats were pulled up along a long sandy beach before I realized I had just barely enough time to full throttle it back to Hudson to get home in time for apple picking with my family. At least I ran into my boat's twin! Good to see you guys Sean!
Man I tell ya, between the choppy waves and some of the swells thrown out by the larger yachts there were a half dozen times that I swear I must have had the whole boat OUT of the water! Yikes! There was even one time on the way back right by the 94 bridge where 4 wakes/waves all converged on each other from 4 different directions RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and as I noticed I was going a good 35 miles an hour at least I thought "Oh my... a hole just opened in the river!" The resulting spine crunching belly flop my poor bayflite took a second later must have been interesting to see!
-
Yeah it's not uncommon to get airborne out there, that last picture I posted (the one of steve) amy said that's right when he "landed" hence the extra water splashing.
-
Ha Ha ... you should see it when it busy ....
-
Once again... YIKES! Hopefully I can start out with the group the next time! Just being out on the water one last time was great, but being on the water with the group and all our awesome boats? Well that's just priceless! ;)
-
The GT-150 is rated for an maximum of 85 horsepower,it would be illegal to run anything larger ;) :D ;D ,,Thanks again for great time ,scenery ,fellowship and some wild rides, hope theres one more outing if weather holds .The Elk River Anoka run sounds ineteresting. If not see you in the spring..
-
That was a great time, with a great group.
See you all next time
