Another AWESOME trip on lake Superior! Went from Red cliff, around the peninsula, over past Sand Island, then came back kind of through the middle of all the islands. Just about ran out of gas too! There is some wide open water out there. Calm as could be. Water temp was around 70 on the surface. Very comfortable for swimming in the middle of the lake. Can't wait to go back!

We forgot to bring the nice video camera so all we got was this low-quality video from the normal camera.

This storm rolled in Sunday night as we were leaving town. Just a reminder lake superior is not always so peaceful!

Got in some kayaking in the sea caves too.

Hopefully one day my V172 does not look like this!

Looks like you've got the bugs works out of her, she's movin' right along. What's your top speed on her?

How does the tree grow on the rock!!!

Looks like you had a great time, the lakes in eastern Nebraska are about as big as a walmart parking lot, I so envy the lakes you have up north...

Rich, I wouldn't way I have the "bugs" worked out. More just using it as is. The starting issue I think it more me just figuring out what works best. Top speed is still about 46 at 4600RPM's with a 21P alum or SS prop. I did a leak down test on it and got anywhere from 8 to 18% drop although the compression is dead even across all cylinders. I am guessing that is my problem and the motor is just tired and needing a rebuild some time in the future. Once your up and going she sings right along though!

I just got really cold here looking at Jamie in that water! Was up there last week and just going up to my ankles was almost too much to bear, HOW IS SHE IN THAT WATER WITH NO WETSUIT AND STILL LIVING?!?! :-)  Looks like an awesome time, I'd love to go out there sometime myself if/when we get a bigger boat.

We were both swimming in the water for about 10-15 minutes until we got cold. As you can see here the current surface temp is about 70 degree's in the apostles. People that live there say they have never felt the water this warm and it was not this warm when we went 4 years ago either.
