Oops!!!
« on: November 04, 2022, 04:33:08 PM »
Make sure you have a bolt or something to lock down the tongue!!!   NOT my mistake!!  But I have a new parts boat now? bottom edge of transom and left side ram took all the damage.. trailer busted a couple of mount bolts but should be a easy fix.  Going to get a closer look at it tomorrow and then probably put all parts up for sale.. let me know if anything is interesting to you. Nice electric trolling motor also..

A decent set of safety chains may have prevented this, but there could be more to this accident, like maybe they bounced over the rail crossing too hard?  Good advice to pin or lock the couplers on anything being towed.

A lot of things went wrong?.. first and worst.. 1 7/8 ball with a 2 trailer, No bolt or lock on trailer Safety chains have dragged on ground for some time and were very weak and busted when wait of boat snapped them.    Shame to lose a nice fishing boat for just a little maintenance. B.O.A.T.
It is a 73 StarCraft with a good mercruiser 120/140 hp 4 cylinder.  Needs new ram on left side. Outdrive is good. I started it up this weekend and it runs very well. Will be parting it out this spring unless someone wants to try to fix the transom.   And by the way it has all new transom wood and floor that?s been replaced in the last couple years..

Sorry about the accident, bummer.  I'm interested in the fuel tank, possible to get measurements of it?

I?ve got it all wrapped up and put away for winter, as soon as it warms back up, I?ll get some measurements for the tank.. probably around 20 gallons. But I?ll find out in spring.

Sounds good nes-cv23, appreciate it.

Yes, I looked up the tank as well and 18 gals is exactly what I'm after.  Thanks.
