Lake Austin Run
catchnedge:
Took LIMELIGHT out on Lake Austin today, one of the few lakes still usable around here with the drought. High temp of 85, lights winds. I put in at the 360 bridge, a pretty well known spot in Austin. This was the first "real" run of the new 90hp Merc. Good news on the cooling issue... the tattle tale was just clogged, Water pump is working fine. Ran great today... easy to start, idles good, ran strong. Here are some pics & video. Planning to bring this up to meet next year!

Merry Christmas guys!
I took LIMELIGHT out today on Lake Austin, Dec 27th, 75 degree and light winds. She worked great, no issues. Since I haven't set up the boat yet with two Mercury gas tanks, and had some older gas in my OMC tanks with the surflite, I made an adapter for the OMC tanks that allowed me to plug in the Merc. Adapter worked great... ran through 12 gallons and emptied the OMC tanks. Now I have a good backup. There is a lot of room in the back of this boat (relatively)... two 6 gallons and a 3 gallon tank fits easily.
This boat has that large vinyl cover over the bilge area, and it has been a pain when working under there... always being in the way. So, I made a couple velcro loops that snap onto the panel and they hold the panel up using the boat cleats. Now I can cinch it up and out of the way. It's a simple thing but helps.
Finished the day at the Hula Hut restaurant. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Austin (by boat or land).
It was a good day!
Wishing you all a safe 2025!

Ran 45mph WOT with this QUICKSILVER 19p. Can't wait to try some other props. BTW... spending a lot of time at Lake Austin because our Canyon Lake nearer to our house is unusable... no ramps open, drought conditions.
