Title: Hello all!
Post by: makinwaves on April 04, 2011, 10:37:49 PM
Wow.  It's been a year since I've checked in.  Tim here, from Omaha.  Some of you hopefully remember me.  For newer members and to update ole friends, here's what I've got going on:

1978 GT-150 in the process of a restoration.  Transom and stringers replaced.  Almost ready for the floor to go in.  The flake and finish are shot so I'm going to paint it orange and white like the "Bond Boat".  I'm going to continue the Bond theme inside with some nice electronics and gadgets.

1978 CVX-16 for sale sans motor.  It was in line to be the next project but I bought:

1980 CVX-16SS in beautiful shape.  I hope to get it on the water this weekend for the first time.  I haven't even seen it in the daylight yet!

Hello Rich.  Did you get your boat resto finished between your crazy winters?  Did you add another boat to your stable?

Hello Gregg.  I'll get more pics up soon.  I bought the GT from a guy here in town that brought it from MN.

Tim,
I did finish the '67 V174 Crestflite a year ago but I think it will always be a work in progress. I installed the same engine you had in your Hammond, the Mercruiser 3.7 four cylinder complete with an alternator conversion, power steering, electronic ignition, and a 4 barrel carb. I also upgraded the transom and drive section to Alpha One. I've gotten a momentary top speed of 52 mph with it but plan to do a little work on the engine to improve on that. I haven't added any new boats to the stable, still have the same two that I've had for some time. Haven't used the '70 V176 Swinger in a few years, it needs a total rebuild as the transom is shot and the floor has soft spots.
