T-Shirt & Product Link
« on: March 14, 2013, 11:48:48 PM »
I started working on T-Shirts for this years event.
Like last year, I've priced the shirts as low as allowed on Cafe Press - there is no profit margin built in (at least, none for me).  As I notice coupon codes, I will post them (today, being 3.14 - also known as "pi" - they are offering 31.4% off with the code PIEDAY).

The link is www.cafepress.com/runonrathbun

The two graphics below are the two I've added.  This topic will be updated as I complete more.

All of last year's t-shirts are still available (I'll be replacing one of mine).

Did you use the 20PADDY coupon code for 20% off ?

I'm working on one at the moment that will be two sided, identify Lake Rathbun Iowa on it, too.

Also ..... because it can get a little lost in the flourish of the text, that "Return To Rathbun" image ... the big black slash is the Glastron "Spear"

One more graphic - something to tie in the font on the "Return To Rathbun" image ...
Uploading now ...
Maybe I'll have to make a color "Return To Rathbun" image ??

** edit **
3.17.2013 - 8:00 pm -  I am in the process of "organizing" the store.  When finished, the link will take you to the main page where you can choose 2013 for this year's shirts, or 2012 for last year's.  I'll divide them further by "generic" CGOA shirts (shirts that have the Classic Glastron Owners Association and 2013, but no reference to the Rathbun event), and "Return to Rathbun" CGOA shirts - both two sided and front only.

OK.  Spent some time with Cafe Press on the phone ... Coupon codes were not working.  Here's what I found out:

Since I set up a "shop," the prices are wholesale + markup by the shop owner.  As mentioned before, I would prefer participation over a couple bucks, so I made them available at no mark-up.  Someone discovered (after last year's meet) that the coupons were reducing the price of shirts below wholesale & they made a correction on their end.

The shirts are also available on the Cafe Press Marketplace, but at retail prices (i.e. average mark-up of $10 per shirt).  We are welcome to use the discounts and coupons at Marketplace prices, but we'd need about 30% off just to break even with the wholesale.

Sooooo for now, the best I can do is leave the mark-up at zero and we get to buy the shirts at what Cafe Press has decided to term 'wholesale' ...

Joe - you didn't miss out on anything.  As a "store," I have priced everything at wholesale.  There is no mark-up, so coupon codes won't work ... They did last year, but somebody caught on.

We got our t-shirts already.  I'll order another, I think.  I like 'em.

Joe -

That's not good to hear ... I'm a white t-shirt guy, so mine showed up great.  My wife's shirt is grey, but the ladies shirt is a silver color, not charcoal.  I have the same graphic, in blue, on the back of the white shirt.

Tim (Still_Fishin) ordered the same one ... I hope he doesn't have the same problem.  If your new one (in blue) shows up and still isn't visible, let me know - I'll get on the horn and send Cafe Press the same graphic in white to be put on the darker shirts.

Their customer service is good, and the only "problem" we had with Cafe Press last year was duplicate orders.  They didn't duplicate the charges, so a handful of people got free goodies - guess it was only a problem for Cafe Press & not us.

Please keep me informed so I can do what I need to on the graphic end.  I will say that the inks, this year, appear to go more of into the fabric, rather than sit on top.  The shirts last year felt almost screen printed, for being a direct-to-garment digital print, I was impressed.  Maybe they changed their inks?

No prob, they were quick to fix...
I did not think to ask about changing the graphic.
the lighter color should look great with the dark logo.
