General Discussion / Transom thickness?

I?m getting conflicting info on how thick the transoms should be?. Some say 2?.  Some 1 3/4?  some at 2 1/4? .     I believe outboards have a different size than inboards?.  What are all you guys thinking?? I?ve got the new transom in in my 23.. it?s at 2? for the mercruiser I?m using.  When I measured the old it was 2? ?.  But that was very rotten.      GO!

Rare classic fiberglass boat. Floor needs repair in places but otherwise solid. 
Have a few of the original chrome pieces to go with it. 
Too many projects to give it the attention it deserves.

1974 Glastron Vagabond Camper Boat.
Ford I/O 200 HP. Seats 10.
V-215 Tri Haul
302 Ford Cleveland V8 engine
Volva pinta out drive
21ft long, 6ft beam.

Comes with tilt trailer with a spare tire, custom cover, and awning. Customer cover under warranty until 2028.
Boat has never been stored in water. It has always been in either a car port or currently a barn. Currently being stored in Livingston Tennessee.
Has a clean title. Has been in storage unused since 2022. Engine still runs (see video). Might need a tuneup. Carburetor was rebuilt in 2022. Ballast sensor and ignition switch also replaced
$4000 or best offer.

Located in Caledonia, MI.  This post below is from last year. 
This restored boat ended up with engine problems at the end of the 2023 season. 
Water found in cylinders so will require engine work. 
I am willing to let this boat go for $1,950 as it is.

From last years post:
Selling my ?79 Glastron Carlson CV23.  Have two Glastrons and need storage room. 
New transom, stringers, floorboards and carpeting.  Full interior refinished incl new foam. 
New teak.  Engine rebuilt...prob 100 hours on it or less.  Great runner and response in water...lots of fun to drive. 
Bimini top and older full cover but functional.  Dual battery with Perko Switch. 
Boat is water ready for the summer.  Have $40k in this boat.  Asking $9,009
Have extra carpet and vinyl.  Serious only please.

Boat was redone 2 years ago. Repainted, new interior, new seats, completely rewired, transome still solid(plated for peace of mind), new floor board. 1150 115 hp mercury power tower, carb kits, ignition system, and stator were replaced. Ski rack has speakers, bluetooth radio in dash. Bilge pump, led inside undergrowth, transom saver, power tilt, everything works and runs good. Trailer included but I never registered and don't have a title. Fun quick boat, hate to see it go but just don't use it enough. No trades, cash only

5.7 350 Magnum Mercruiser with 270 Horsepower with Alpha One Outdrive. Boat needs work the boat has soft spot on Stringer for the engine support that needs to be fixed, the boat only is for sale in need of work. Trailer is not included. We will float it off my trailer and put it on yours.
