Mississippi flooding at Red Wing

I thought I'd share current water conditions of the Red Wing area. I've been helping a buddy out the last few days that has a cabin on the back channel, down from Mr Sippies (featured in the video) about 3/4 of a mile, so I've had been watching the levels pretty close. This pool is my families first home on the Mississippi so we know it pretty well and recognize everything in the video. You on the other hand may not but I bet all of you that have been to one of the annual meets and have locked through the dam ,8:45 mark of the video, understand how tall those lock walls are when the lower gates are open. It's nuts to see the lower gates totally open, water levels more or less equal up and down river of the dam, water passing through some of the cutouts at the top of the upper gates and water almost touching the rollers which are topped out.

Well made video, sad to see all the damage. Never seen L/D 3 with those water levels before.

Been through a Flood and two "High Waters".
Unless you've been there, it's hard to comprehend just how much damage water does.
I feel for these people.
A lot of hard, heartbreaking work ahead.

Brandon, from what I remember the campground is only 3 to 5 feet above normal August water levels so as Joe mentioned... . It's wet. Very wet.
