Saying HI . . .
« on: September 22, 2010, 11:32:51 AM »
Just want to let all of you know that I enjoy your site!
My name is Mike and I have been lurking for some time now. Live in Little elm, TX. I picked up the CVX-20 455 about 2 years ago, wanted one since the first time I saw them at a dealer. Grew up in California with jets in the sixties and owned a few over the years. But it wasn?t until eBay that I could see what was selling all over the country. So when this one showed up in Pennsylvania I drove up from Dallas to pick it up.

It needed some electrical and fuel systems help. But all the wood and gel was in real good shape. The interior had been redone a few yeas before I got it.

Welcome! Your boat looks awesome. I love the Orange. I thought they only put 460's in CVX20 jets. Is yours special?

Thats a good question. I have not seen another one with the 455 in it. I believe I'm the third owner, the first only had it for about a year. The owners kids that sold it to me, said he did not use it much or do much to it. It did have an Edelbrock torker intake and a Holly that had it's choke tower cut off. I did get a 455 pakajet manual with it.

Would be really interesting to find out the stoy on it. Sounds like it's been customized a little bit. Could have been a "special order" for a "special" person or the original owner or dealer did some modifing. 76 was an interesting year. Kind of a switch over year from the CV to the CVX year. CV19's were typically available in other years with a 455 but in 76, in the CV19's last year, it came with a 460.

No, not me.  If anything I would like to buy more.

Where did you see it, and how much?

Thanks for the link. I do remember seeing it some time ago. To be honest, that engine with it's aluminum heads looks so nice that i just assumed that it was another ford and did not pay much attention.
