Hastings to Stillwater Round Trip
« on: July 08, 2019, 08:16:36 PM »
Such a nice day in Minnesota, 84 degrees with a light 6 MPH wind. 58 miles round trip with son from Hastings to Stillwater and back. Mississippi up and ramp flooded. Debris in both St. Croix and Mississippi. Hit a wood piece 4"  x  4"  x  12"  thinking I caused damage to the prop and skeg judging from the deep cuts in the wood. Think someone else hit it first. Just some scuff marks on the skeg easily buffed out. No prop damage.

That's a nice looking boat!

Sounds like a memorable trip. I was out on the 4th on the Illinois River. Levels are up there and lots of debris. Luckily I didn't hit any!

Missouri River is flooding at Omaha, no real amount of debris, but all the ramps are closed, so no access.  CoE says dams open till November.  Glad to hear you didn't have any real damage, that is a terrible feeling to have when you hear the "thud".
