cv23 getting onto plane
« on: July 09, 2019, 05:58:28 PM »
I have only had my boat out a few times so far, but I noticed i cant take off and get on plane unless  throw the throttle down to around 5k rpm or so and then back off. once it starts to plane out to maintain my speed. Is this normal? Its a 460 with a Berkeley jet.

The 23 is a  heavy boat and depending on how many people on board makes
a difference on getting on plane. What you described is about normal for a jet boat
that size. Check RPM at 35 MPH,should be about 3300 RPM, depending on load in boat.
Top speed should be low to mid 50 with stock motor.
