Murphy's Law
« on: August 12, 2019, 12:36:36 PM »
I've been having an issue with the outdrive not locking in position in reverse. The trim pump had good flow of oil on the up position but no oil flow for the down side.I replaced the trim pump with one I had from a parts boat and regained oil flow in both directions but the out drive still kicked up in reverse. The reverse lock valve was replaced with one off the parts boat with no change. I also bypased the valve altogether with no results. I rebuilt the trim cylinders and that solved the problem.  At least in the driveway and the first few times I tried it on the water. I'm now back to no hold and no oil flow in the down position, outdrive goes up without a problem. Still bringing the boat to TI. Plan on boating straight ahead or in circles. Out of time to fix it at home as I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.

See you at TI!

"I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.".   West bound and down?   I have spares of both I could pack along, but my first thought is possibly the hose connections are incorrect?  At the lock out maybe?    I can take a look at mine tonight if you want to call and discuss?  Look forward to seeing you later this week, missed you both last year.
