Think I should go to OK to save this boat??

1981 Ski Machine w/200 outboard;

I've been talking to him and seems pretty sound; He even started it up for me today to show me how she runs; metal flake paint is all there; he put automotive clear on it so it needs to be sanded all down and gel coated; transom new, floor redone, bottom is very clean. Says it runs out at 67 mph

Wonder why the transom and each pod are black?   Also is the holes on eith side of the engine for splash well drains?

Holes almost look to low for splash well? and looks like the transom was replaced form the out side.. it?s all about the price..  It will take about 5k to make it look good again.  And 67 mph sounds a little high..  IMHO..

How did that one work out for ya? Sand, gel and buff out nice??

Hard to tell how well that transom was replaced; especially because it's not just down the road.. The pics do kindo show evidence of just some fiberglass slopped on by bumpy looking areas. Don't know what to thing of the extra holes back there too...
