Title: Hello from Lake of the Woods
Post by: Relic on June 09, 2017, 09:29:27 AM
Hello,

Reading some posts it looks like I might be the second member with a V-215!

Ours is a 1974 and owned it since new!

Searching the internet for information on this boat brought me here. Sadly it is time to sell our boat and i'm having trouble finding a market value for a fairly rare boat.

Hoping some members here will be able to give me some insight.

Will take some pictures as soon as I can, probably won't be able to get out there until the end of the month.

Best I can describe it is, all original, we'll taken care of, always stored indoors. Less than average wear for sure.

How much would you like to get ?
Have seen them in the $1500 to $3000 range ...
There was a very nice one on CL, looking for it now, can't remember how much he wanted ...

Would like to get a fair price from someone who will enjoy it and see the value in having a boat capable of weekend getaways. This boat could get a person into cottage country without having to own a cottage.
Can't imagine what a 21ft camper cruiser would cost new.

Your boat went for about $8000 in 1974.

A new Glastron GT229 go's for about $48,000.
A new Glastron  GS 259 go's for about $78,000

I think those are really cool boats. Perfect boat for up where you are on lake of the woods or even in Voyageurs national park. Would be a lot of fun riding up on those bow seats. Wish I had room for one more. The value really depends on the condition. Gregg is probably not for off on the value though. You might be able to swing a little more if she is near mint. I think finding a boat of this size and age is difficult simply because most people did not have the space to keep them indoors.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

The bow ride seats are always a crowd pleaser, their reaction to the air horn is always good for a few laughs too.

Thank you for finding the craigslist ad. Similar boat, what is up with the hull, is it eroded?

We have twins! Just picked up our Vagabond a couple months ago :-) You don't happen to have the camper bimini you'd sell separately do ya?
