Title: Hello Everyone
Post by: TomLund on September 06, 2012, 06:13:24 PM
Its been a very long time that i have been on. I am also sorry Linda and I couldn't make the meet but its been a rough summer for us. First of all I asked Linda if she wanted to get married again she said sure why to me i have know idea but i will take it.lol  2nd  she gratuated from nursing school and is for now a cna. I am very proud ;D. Here is the ugly news I managed or am going through threw 2 forclouseurs One from my ex and the other from my dads estate. Life does go on But would like to offer ANYONE IN THE CLUB THE CREASTFLIGHT. Just come and pick it up and all parts that i have. The reason is i have no idea where Linda and i will move and trying to find long term storage very cheap is tough. All i ask if it goes to a member that when its done i can go for ride in it 8). I still want to be active in the club and when money and life gets a little easier i will find another classic promise

Ok enough ramblin

Tom

Sorry to hear that Tom.

Is there a specific timeline you're looking for in getting the boat outta there?  Assuming soon?

I'd love to do the Rich conversion to it to give it a little more 'Go'...but suspect folks will be climbing over one another to take it off your hands!

Tom. I love that boat and would sure like to see it back on the water.

Hey if nothing else, I'd let you store it here for free. We might have to figure out what to do with all the parts however.

PS, sorry to hear of the bad news but at least there is some good news in there too.

Tom, I don't have a shed to put it in but there is a lot of room up here at the family cabin at Ottertail.  I'd be happy to mothball it for you till you can get back to it.  It would be outside but tarped and secure till when ever.

Tom, Here's a deal you can't refuse ;)

As spokeman for a few members, we would like to make your 174 a club project.
If Ross can store it a few months, a few of us would like to make it a winter project.

Love it!

I'm willing to save it, and I know that Dan was thinking it over too...but keeping it in Tom, Linda and Alex's hands is far and away the best option.   Its too nice a boat not to have around.  I remember really liking it at the 2010 meet Tom.

Collectively, it shouldn't be too difficult of a project.  Especially if the power plant is a runner as Retro thought it was, what a great setup for that boat!

Got to be a way to make it happen for you Tom.

I like the idea! Having it here for a few months or whatever is fine but it will be outside.
I'd like to take part in the project as well. Its a worthy cause.

That's awesome.  Wish I lived close enough to take part - always willing to learn from others.

I'm currently working on a transom and an extra set of hands makes it actually pretty easy.  Jim's idea would work out great if some people could figure out two weekends or so we could get it back in order in no time.

I am very humbled at reading all the posts. Frankly i don't know what to say other then Thank you from my heart. I want to be apart of the winter project as much as i can if thats ok? This  means the world to me and has given me hope that everything is slowly turning around in my life for the better. The boat can stay here with me for as long as i still have the house.

I also would like to say that i have never belonged to a club that cares about the members as much as this club.

Thank you again everyone you truley are a  family to me and my family.

sincerely

Tom and Linda

I couldn't be more proud to be a part of, and honored to know, the members of this group. If the rest of life worked the way our club does the world would be a much better place!

I've got a 50" wide roll of 1.5 oz csm mat, probably 10 or 15 yards left on it you guys are welcome to have for the project.  We just have to get it up there, I saved the box it came in.

I don't have a whole lot to donate, maybe some 140 spare parts if needed. Shift, throttle cable. Carb but I think his old 6 carb should be the same.

We will update members when work has been scheduled.

Talked to Tom,Jim,Shawn

Shawn was kind enough to store the boat at his place, not sure at this time if the work will be done there all depends on when the 23 comes in for rebuild.

Plans are to move the stuff this Saturday let say at 10:00am,  Tom is busy with work he is trying to start a painting business ( anybody that hates painting as much as I do give Tom a call).

Jim will bring his pickup with trailer to haul motors and misc. I will bring wifes truck to move boat.  Tom said there is a cherry picker, and all motors are on pallets.

Not sure of Toms address hope he will post it, Anybody wanting to help show up.

I know this is his place. Just not sure what the house number is. I'll make it if I can. I might be putting a clutch in a Subaru tomorrow morning.

Just thought I would chime in and say this is great to see!... don't think there is much I can do from San Antonio, but if you happen to see some parts or whatever in my neck of the woods, I would be willing to help out where I can.

I agree with Mark, it is great to see everyone helping out. Amber and I are planing a few more trips to MN in the next 2 to 3 months. If you need some parts brought up from KS, NE, IA, MO, or SD we would be willing to pick it up or pull it along on our next trip.

Tom has mentioned in the past that his prop needs touching up. If it still does, drop it off tomorrow at my house in Shoreview, or give it to Jim and I can pick it up at his work in the Midway area.
