No Morris code name calling Jerry. What is your ETA on Fri? BD may only be available for morning and afternoon rides, her evenings book up pretty quick. Especially on holidays.

Is the boat still there, or is it hanging in a tree somewhere? Sounds like some bad whether there. We had it here Monday.

the tornado's miss us, but I got to tell ya, just west of us, north of us, and further east is devistated, so sad, they are still looking for a 3 year old child, two other of the same family critical ... this morning I think 80 casualties in neighboring communities.  so sad.  the joplin tornado two days ago .. just awful.  so sad.
have not heard from Barb yet,  very close both east and west of her place.

Good to hear Red, hope all is well with Barb too.  The news coverage is sad to watch. Looks like there is still a lot of bad weather in the area yet.  Keep your hard hat handy.

So what's the deal with this? Is it a Frankenboat being pieced together? Is there some other thread on it that I haven't noticed or connected with this?

Barb, this is David, the one behind the idea of the "Hard Luck Trophy". To save on postage, and spend it instead on Burnin Daylight, give your broken boat and motor parts to Jerry and he can bring them back to Minnesota.

I was wondering how you were going to close that off.  You are one ambitious guy Red!  Going to need some ballast up front I would think but I am sure you have thought of that.  A fuel tank would certainly help but that is a ballast that would dissatisfy half way down into Lake Pepin!  Do you think running the trim all the way in will correct it?  This boat started off as a GT-160 and is being morphed into a cracker-box racer style outboard.  Interesting to say the least.  Will likely be a wild ride!

Going to need some ballast up front I would think but I am sure you have thought of that ...
Think about it this way Chris, by moving the bow section back,  I actually only moved about 45 pounds aft 22 inches, then I added about 44 pounds of re-inforcement and foam fore and aft,  the 150hp Merc weighs about 20 pounds more than a 115, the jack plate weighs 22 pounds. Removing the weight of the back seat, and a couple 6 gallon tanks of gas back there, adding the weight of a fuel tank with a little gas in it up front, and maybe the battery, the balance of the little critter probably has not changed but a few pounds.  One advantage of the jack plate, raising the prop 3" closer to the water surface, reduce's bow lift, and the rest of the boats attitude is dependent on the prop he choose's to put on it. You are right ... it's going to be interesting to see how it come's out,  and you Know, that I don't know how one of my "bright idea's"  is going to work until it's tested, and just about as many of them don't that do.

It will be ready Jerry, Oh ... by the way, bring some lights for the trailer, I didn't realize there are none on it.
I got some more work done on it today, finished in the foam, finished out and over-layed the floor, put the deck on it and will start sewing it together tomorrow ... piece a Cake.

Man, I wish I had your ambition and energy! I have a fair amount but when I spent 5 hours on the lawn, I am pretty toasted and dont feel like doing much else!
