I believe that. ;D I'm already happy with it. I ordered a new Edlbrock carb for it. OleRed I went with the carb you recommended.  I think I might get a aluminum intake manifold to go with it. Try to find a used one on Ebay or something.I think it will be a good choice. Later down the road, this 350 will probably see a new cam with more lift.

you can usually find the Edlebrock Performer intake on ebay pretty cheap, it's a dual plane with good low end torque, and when ya get ready to change the cam, get hold of David, he's the best in my opion, here his link ...  it's a new site, not complete, so ya got to call him and tell him what you want, http://willhoitescams.tripod.com/ David builds all the cams for my engines.  He sell's the Chevy "hot cam" for about $125 on ebay I think

I know I was having troubles from about 70% throttle and up since day one. My 350 with a qjet would bog and stumble pretty bad. Five hours of online reaserch later I found a mercruiser service bulletin for our particular set up and my problem. Turns out my qjet was set up for 9000 feet and above. Im at around 600 to 700 feet. More fuel please. My secondary needles were the cause. I ordered the set it called for, plus a few other sizes and bingo. I gained hole shot, 8mph, and a huge grin.

Thanks Red, I am watching a manifold now. Placed a bid. Hope to get it for a good price.

Still fishing...I think the new carb that i ordered will do the trick. My qjet was probably doing the same as your. Sounds like it at least. Right know with the 21pitch and not running correct my top speed on my Speedo is 58mph. What kinda speed are you getting?

Shrom,, the engine that olered is running in that scimitar in the video is now the 357 that is in Burnin Daylight.  He is building a 383 stroker for his scimitar.  It is actually pretty good on the fuel until you start hot rodding it.  And we don't know what it will run gps in the intimidator, still working out a few things, but we know we are busting 70 plus. Going to try out some different props this week.

Sounds pretty sweet Shrom! I've been taking notes from Red also.

Just bought a Aluminum edlbrock performer Intake manifold to go with that carb. Shaving some weight. Plus get better flow. Those cast iron intakes are heavy! Should have that stuff by the end of the week ;D
