Gregg and I need help getting this meet together. Ok, mostly Gregg...I can only do so much from Des Moines.
Eventbrite site is almost ready, Blast email will be going out shortly. Costs should not go up over last year. Please keep in mind that the campground began to charge 'per person' last year. There is a charge for Adults, older Kids are cheaper, and 6 & Under is free.
The campground has asked that RV sites be reserved through them as they're already very short on RV space. It does sound like we'll have about the same space we did last year for tents.
We are not planning on a community/potluck meal at this time.
Here's what we need for volunteers:
Greeters:
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Thursday Pizza Night Organizer
Friday or Saturday Night Movie
-
We'll handle the greeting tent on Saturday morning.
Terry and Nancy

Dottie and I can do Saturday night supper. Brats, kosher Hot Dogs, vegi-dogs on request, Baked beans (my special Tonka Jim and some stock vegi-beans) and chips. We have done this for over 300 people without a problem. Talk it over let me know if there is extra money after expenses, or if we need to charge a couple bucks a plate. If Sean wants to do corn again that would be great. Decide and let me know.
-
Sorry that Tim and I are not available to help this year with the planning. That whole having a baby thing sort of gets in the way.... hoping to at least make an appearance!

Nope, its all good!
Already had a couple conversations with Margi, we're mostly all set.

Jerry - We won't be including a meal in this years registration fee, nor planning it. If you want to take that on as your own contribution, and charge/accept a free will offering, that would be great, but it is totally up to you.

I have trouble organizing myself, let alone 100 plus people ...
So bare with me ...
I will be changing my user name to ... " SuckeredInToIt2 "
LOL ...
-
Make a list of things that need to be covered. I'm sure you'll get enough help.
Maybe a spreadsheet with things that need to be done and things that are covered and by whom? That can then be posted and shared.
-
I could be sucker in to a couple things I am sure.
-
Amber and I will handle the Thursday pizza order and money collection.
-
I think that most of the bases are covered, but Gregg & Jim will need help monitoring & collecting fees from the day trippers as they role in.
-
I got the Email from Eventbrite.......if we are just coming down Saturday morning for a couple hours what tickets are we supposed to buy? No boat or anything, we would just be stopping to say hi and see the boats.

Doran ...
I have the same question ...
Don ...
I would think no ticket needed, but unsure ...

No ticket needed! The Campground (not us) has fees for using their facilities (obviously)...but, if you're just coming down, to hang out for the day, no boat, no fee.
-
Thanks Doran ...

Barring a plane crash or car wreck I oughta be there by about 1:30 or so on Thursday. Is that too early? I could come back later ...
I wanna volunteer for the most dangerous job ...

Nah, I should be there about then as well, with Brandon & Amber too.
-
I should be up there about that time too. I'm sure that I could help out with something
-
Doran and Gregg
Let me know if there is anything I can Do.
Jeff

I think we should be good. I've talked to most of the folks who volunteered.
Pizza order takers is covered for Thursday night, then its just Meet & Greet, Money on Friday & Sat. AM.
But...since everyone's going to register via EventBrite, there shouldn't be too much $$ to handle.
-
I plan on being down some time on Thrusday, On vacation that week.
-
I'm hoping to make it down too. I'm in the process of job hunting so it's tough to make plans... I'd love to have the boat up and running by then.
-
We'll be there Thursday too. Probably noonish. First ones to arrive last year except for Maggie and probably be one of the last to leave.
-
were planing on getting their early afternoon thursday.
have a few river guides left from last year, will bring them (could get more if need be)
not volunteered for anything yet but i have many talents...
i can be loud and obnoxious at 2:00 AM, i look good with a bucket on my head, and i can show up most anywhere with enough speakers to get the cops there within minutes, lets see... must be somitn else ;)

yes it is...
works perfectly into my plan "ugly splitter with a flat tire" no one will want to borrow or steel it

I could bring some firewood, however, I am concerned that there may be an issue with importing firewood, emerald ash borer and such. If someone would give me the green light, I'd be happy to bring firewood.
-
They sell it at the campground and yeah, better safe than sorry as far as transporting it.
-
I have a big pile at my place, Shawn and I are both gonna haul some of that.

But if you kno it's clean I would not be worried about it.
