I bought this last year for the motor and plans have changed so I'm offering it up here.
1985 Merc 115 S/N A155206 Model 1115625 ELPT, 20" shaft.
I started the motor today, Mon, once running, it restarts instantly.
The compression is 130, 125, 130, 130, 125, NA - top to bottom.
The motor don't crank or "up" tilt at the control, but tilt does work both up and down from the solenoids.
I was able to shift into both forward and reverse, but the control is very "stiff" and either needs rebuilding or replacement.
Was last reg in 2013.
The boat, a 1984? CVX 16, NO PAPER, so maybe just a parts boat. Floor soft. No ft seats or windshield.
The trailer, a older Spartan roller in poor condition.
I'd like to get what I paid for it - $500, must take all.
If interested, send an e-mail dan.lindberg@q.com

I'm planning on picking this up for the motor to go on the GT. Would any of my Minneapolis area buds be interested in picking it up and holding onto it until I can get up there? Maybe even pull the motor in exchange for the boat and trailer? Let me know if anyone can help. Thanks!

Whoa Timmay, what does a compression test of "130, 125, 130, 130, 125, NA" mean? It is a six cylinder isn't it? does this mean the six cylinder is dead? If dead, are we thinking a rebuild?
-
It means Not Available - meaning my compression tester uses a hose about 8 " long and I couldn't screw it into the plug hole. If someone on the North side has a tester that can be screwed into cyl 6, I'd love to get the last number.

I can not get my compression tester into #6 either.

You could help with the compression test or picking it up?
-
Not sure if my tester would fit in there either, I've never worked on one of those. But depending on where it's located I can help with either one of those tasks.

Road trip Timmay! Think a Merc TOP would fit in a challenger trunk?

I am pretty sure my tester works on an inline 6. Don't remember having issues when I had it. You are welcome to it but I am in Hudson, not sure if that is north enough...

Thanks Joe!! I'll put you in touch with Dan. If it checks out ok I'll try to come up with a date to get up there.

I'm in Mounds View, just west of I35W, and North of 694.

This is now sold.
Thanks to Joe for stopping over and checking the motor out and sending a video clip of it running.
We were able to get his gauge in #6 and it was the same as the rest, and we got the same numbers after running it, ie, hot.

Hopefully that means Timmay may still get his GT wet this year, no pun intended.

Did Joe get to keep the boat ?

I could bring ya a running rude 85 for $300.00 for that new CVX16, seems like we would have room for an outboard going there. Sorry no trim/tilt though.

A thousand Thank You's to Joe for doing my legwork. Mike and I are tentatively planning on coming up Oct. 7th to pick it up. We're planning on staying the night if anyone wants to try to get together.
