Hello Gang … I hope everyone had a great Christmas filled with opportunities to visit family and friends. We're just 2 days away from 2014, so I thought I'd throw my mid-winter feelers out.
Let's take some votes on dates … June 6, 7 & 8 - or a week later, the 13, 14 & 15? Most of us with kids will have them wrapping up school at the end of May, some of us through Friday the 6th. Our final day got rained out last year, but there's no way to predict that 6 months out …
I'm happy to work out a big lunch again on local donations - so it's a long way to haul a boat for a free meal, but the company is worth it. If I can secure a place to beach the boats that has a picnic shelter near enough, we can all boat out to have lunch.
Just like last year, I'll keep updates coming on lake conditions. Reservations will go through reserveamerica.com again. Campsites are relatively inexpensive, something like $16/night for the south campgrounds at Honey Creek State Park. Sites are numbered, all electric, central shower/restroom facilities. These sites become available 3 months prior. There are just a very small handful of cabins that are inexpensive that come online 6 months prior.
My registration is current and the old Merc was running the best it has in my possession before I put it away this past fall … I'm determined to be on the water this year (and not get kicked off!) …
