Well, they got a little too excited to see the Glastrons I have been telling them about and decided to get out early!
After a 6 day nightmare battle with labor, 2 identical amazing and awesome twin super smiths were born this morning. They are both doing really well and the NICU here predicts they will be able to go home in about 4 weeks.
Born 2/19/2015 (9 weeks premature)
Emmett Theodore 7:32AM 3lbs 7oz 16.5" Long
Sawyer Lincoln 7:49AM 3lb 13oz 16" Long
Jason & Jamie

-
Great news Jason! Tho I don't know if my old lady n I could have handled that! Yikes! That ALOT! I am happy fer y'all!
-
Jason... Are both those green bots yours? I was wondering what you like better? I/O or outboard? Which has more power? I kinda like the idea that if the engine goes bad on outboard you just pop it off and pop a new one on, and ya really can't do it that easy with I/O. Does either have more advantages?
-
FANTASTIC!
I assume we have to imagine the second twin or have double vision.
OK I read the captions now. Dottie saw it.

The I/O is mine. The outboard is Steves. I bet I could swap out that 140 in my boat faster than I could swap an outboard. I love the quietness of the I/O but Steves is FAST and a blast to drive.
Thanks for all the congrats guys! I am looking forward to life with the boys.
-
Jason my mind is running in so many directions because we are leaving on vacation saturday(that's what you call it when you leave the kids with the grandparents otherwise it's a trip) I forgot to tell you 2/19 is an awesome day because that's my birthday. 50 years young baby! ;).........LOL

Great news! How big are they now? And yes, sleepless nights are highly possible, but it won't take long and you'll all be in a good routine. Twice as much fun and joy! I enjoy your pics and updates :-)
-
Survived the first night. We got them on the same feeding schedule so that helps. Up for an hour about every 3-4 hours.
About 8lbs now!
-
That's great news Jason! Glad everybody's home.
-
That's awesome Jason & mom. I couldn't imagine. One at a time was hard enough.

Great news! Soon it will be time for their first boat ride!
-
what will they think of next?

Kelly & I got to spend time with the new Smith twins yesterday.
They are more adorable in person than the pictures show.
Jamie & Jason are GREAT parents except Jamie is not to happy with Jason's idea of putting them in rubbermaid tots for their first boat ride
-
hey Jason, do you guys go biking ?
i got this today, if ya can use it, it's yers
-
Wow! Awesome Joe. We have been looking for a cheap one of those. We do bike a lot. Once the boys can hold up their heads we'll be sticking them in there. Thanks for thinking of us. I'll try to get over there soon to pick it up. Just let me know what we owe ya.
-
it was free !
-
Those pull behind trailers are great. I picked up a Trek version on Craig's list a few years ago. Very well built ones last forever.

At first I wasn't going to say anything on here but with all the kids and grand kids in the club and the fact we around water quite a bit I thought it would be worth it if it saves another life.
Sunday morning Emmett quit breathing. He had a pretty big spit up and just couldn't handle it and was choking on it. Luckily we were awake and heard it happen as he was in his crib. I attempted to knock it out of him by pounding on his back with no results. He was turning from dark purple to more pale and limp so I immediately started CPR while Jamie called 911. This continued for another 5 minutes with a slow progression of him getting his color back and working out the spit up. 5 emergency vehicles showed up within 5 minutes and the first to show up, a Sheriff, gave him one more smack on the back and he started crying. He went to the Emergency room and now back to Childrens in St. Paul where he is doing good but recovering from pneumonia.
So, I can't urge everyone enough to learn infant/child CPR. You just never know and Emmett would not be here if I had not learned it in the Hospital.
-
Wow scary! Big props to you for keeping your head and doing the right thing!
-
Glad Emmett is doing well, had to been quite a scare for you and Jamie. Glad you were trained in infant CPR!
-
Scary story to read ...
Had to be TERRIFYING for you guys !
-
Thanks for writing the story and for the advice. Will pass it on to my son and his wife, who are expecting this month.
Along the same vein, everyone please wear a life vest and connect the dead man's switch while boating.
-
Ugh, that is a scary moment Jason. Good job on being a prepared Mom & Dad, and super glad that he made it through.
-
Hey, how is Emmett (and the rest of you) doing?
-
Emmett is back home now and doing good. The rest of us are just trying to sleep.

First cars of their own. Now we just need two little Glastrons to pull behind them.
(http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t124/lincolnman1969/misc/IMG_4390_zpstuwcvm0s.jpg) (http://s159.photobucket.com/user/lincolnman1969/media/misc/IMG_4390_zpstuwcvm0s.jpg.html)
-
What car are they sitting in? Can't seem to remember sedans with back window that opens like that. Continental? Good to see the twins are doing well, time to build them some mini Glastrons.
-
1967 Mercury Montclair. That's all the farther that window opens. Really just for ventilation but works really well. Mercury also made the breezeway window with a rear window that opened all the way but it sloped inwards.
-
Thanks for sharing Jason! Can't wait to see them in August!
-
Jason
Are going to get another 23 or 16 to keep things equal later?
-
So cute! Thanks for sharing updated pictures!
