Forget James Bond!

Watching the original 1966 Batman TV movie featuring the original Glastron based batboat! Take that Bond!

1966 V174 Crestflite Super Sport! The Batboat is what got me hooked on Glastrons.

Back then, I didn't know what a Glastron was. Now I can see they retained at least some of the original paint scheme.
I imagine it was an I/O or did they convert it to a jet?

The Batboat was commissioned and built by Glastron for the movie. It had a Mercruiser I/O 200hp in-line 6 engine. There were two boats built, one for the movie and a second for promotional tours and was displayed at different Glastron dealers. The movie boat was damaged in a fire and rebuilt as a car to be driven in parades, the whereabouts of the 2nd is unknown but may be in the hands of a collector in South America. Pictures below of the car-converted original boat and the #2 touring boat.

That's Darren's "replica" built on a 1969 V145 hull. He's a member of the CGOA main board. Originally an outboard powered hull his replica will be "powerless" against the forces of evil.
