New Truck

"New Truck"

Well, for me anyway.  A 1997 Range Rover with a 169000 miles and a bright yellow to boot!

I may have jumped off the deep end here and taken on a bit much; these things are notoriously unreliable.  I picked it off Craigslist in MN for $3200.00.  The truck came with work order receipts for the last 15 years.  I added them up and came up with nearly $30,000 in work done by a Jag shop on the west coast, you name it . . . it has been replaced or overhauled.  Someone loved this truck.  It is immaculate, inside leather and interior is spotless and hardly worn. I have a few hundred miles on it now and can see a few summer small fixes already though.  I put 3000-5000 miles on my vehicle a year.

I'm a project guy, moving on and finishing one project after another.  A grand experiment has begun.

I'm guessing many in this group keep things running waaay past what most would consider keeping . . .  It is in a way, "A hobby".

Nice looking ride. I remember hauling them to the dealers after picking them up from the Port of Baltimore (east coast) or Port Hueneme (Oxnard,CA),

Yup, keeping the 'wheels on the bus' long after most would junk the bus...kind of what we do here...
