I'm facing fierce lobbying from the rat-rod PAC. What to do, what to do ...

Put it in the water!

Next winter clean it up and make it the beauty that it originally was.

Make her run first, then make her pretty.   Never know if the setup works for you until ya try.   At least the glass wont rust while your playing.   You might just find some stress areas that need some glass work anyway, better to find the faults without the makeup.  Just my $0.02

Yes, put it together the best you can unfinished, mount the motor, and test for balance, motor height, determination of the best tank location, seat location, any imperfections in the hull, all which needs to be done in the unfinished state, and to determine how much money should be put into the project.

It is. Black base, then flake. But then a thick coat of some kinda black primer/surfacer on top. Chit's difficult to sand, and seems impervious to citrus strip.

Y'know this is kinda like a treasure hunt. Least that's what I keep tellin myself

Dash and splash well area are gonna be interestin. Transom's still got some flake on it. Why they didn't shoot the stern along with the resta the hull's a mystery. Asked Don about it'n he said it musta been beer thirty ...

Regardless. I honestly think the citrus strip rearranged the molecules or somethin in that black primer. I member when I was usin some acetone to get the last of the glue from the stickers off. Rag kept gettin black. Now acetone won't even touch the stuff.

Ah well, back to the old grind ...

After many sleepless nights, and consulting with my financial adviser. A decision has been made. Gonna sand her down to what's left of the flake then clear coat. Figger if'n the stress cracks reappear they oughta be easy to spot ...
