New from Norman OK with 1984 CV23
« on: November 12, 2021, 10:01:20 PM »
Hello from Oklahoma!!

I just purchased a 1984 Glastron Carlson CV23 from a seller in Lawton OK. Doing some research on the boat, I found several videos and forum threads from this group talking about the engine build and possible restoration that was done almost ten years ago to my boat. Sounds like someone with the name ?Ole Red? built this boat for ?Barb?. I would love to find more info on the history of the boat as it is one heck of an engine build and restoration. Although it does need a few items addressed, it seems to be fairly well kept. I hope to leverage the knowledge of this forums membership as I bring her back to 100%

I am a car guy for sure, but have owned some pretty cool boats over the years as well. 70?s Glastron tri hull, 1978 Taylor, 2010 Force Offshore Cat, 1980 Tahiti, 1990 Bayliner, 196? Texas Maid, and now the Carlson CV23.

Yes, I believe one of the previous owners had a boat named "Burnin Daylight" as well as this one. I recall seeing something like Hot Knotts.  Here are a few pics of her from this past summer that the previous owner took....

Yep, burning daylight was their intimidator, hot nauts(sp?) Was the 23.    Both were exceptional examples of vintage Glastrons.    Red retired from boats, sold the Scimitars, and went back to off roading Jeeps.   The 23 made it to Rathbun lake in Iowa, as well as Red's Scimitar a few years back.

Thanks guys. Was the right time of year to make the purchase. She is already at the detailer getting wet sanded, polished and detailed inside and out. I have a few small items to address and hope this group can lead me in the right direction. Thanks for the kind words and support!
