Title: knee brace
Post by: AndyBean on August 18, 2010, 05:31:27 PM
Any of you great Glastron Historians have an idea where I can find one of the many threads on rebuilding a transom using knee bracing.
There used to be one on Carlson Speed that Tom did but can't seem to locate it. I have looked throught the Classics site but no luck.
Thanks
Andy

Chris (GlastronGT160) might know.
His email address is in his profile.

Here is an excerpt from Tom on Stream and Fly Forum on his transom brace.

Thanks. But there are no picture there. Tom Brown had the great thread of his rebuild. The email address I have for him is not good.
Anyone know his email? I think all the good transom rebuild threads over on the Classics site were lost ???

I toyed around with this idea, but then the floor started to get complicated ... Ended up instead just carrying the stringers all the way aft and tying them to the transom. They were not tied to the transom origionally btw.

Andy found some good examples of knee braces on the CGOA website.
