Title: Oops.. Dam...
Post by: nes-cv23 on September 24, 2017, 04:58:01 PM
Found out why I needed a tow last week....   Nice to have spare parts.... There is a reason to collect boats when there all over 40 years old.... Should be ready for next weekend...

Hit nothing... Trying to keep up to you... Too much nitro... And a big prop.      :D

I've seen that happen before. Good thing it happened below the water pump or your engine would have started overheating. But form the look of it that impeller has seen better days.

That's what happens to your impeller when you start it on muffs, your son trips over the hose and kinks it.... And all of a sudden you notice theirs little or no water coming out.. Didn't ever get hot, but I wondered.

A bit difficult to tell from the picture, but it appears the break occurred just at the point it becomes supported by the bearing.  The break probably has been forming for some time.  Nearly 40 year old drive/components.
