A piece of Glastron history being demolished
« on: July 30, 2019, 04:22:08 PM »
For the past 15 years we've been driving past the old Glastron Worldwide HQ & manufacturing plant in New Braunfels TX, on our way to Canyon Lake.  Schlitterbahn waterparks owned & used it to manufacture their water rides. A few years ago there was a horrible accident where a patron was fatally wounded in one of the parks. Schlitterbahn was sued, though they were not found negligent (as far as I know), they had to sell off this facility & all the equipment to pay for the lawsuit debt. I've watched the facility empty, now it's being demolished.

Here are pictures of the facility from page 2 of 1989 Glastron catalog, and the 1984 Glastron Cover. There are others.

Then, 3 pictures I took today... exited south IH35, 001--approaching north side of facility, 002--facade of building already removed, 003--around south corner.

I should do a walk through of the building and see if there are any Glastron items laying around!

I'll bet there isn't much Glastron stuff still there, but who knows might be a sign or something still there.
