The Trip 'Up Norte' so far!
« on: July 02, 2014, 10:47:24 PM »
Had a couple colder days to start the week off...but having a good week now!

To start it all off, I had to replace the water pump on the Suburban (twice!) as I noticed that sweet antifreeze smell the day before we left.  First replacement water pump leaked too!

Stopped at the old hometown (Winthrop, MN) for a bite to eat:

Nice to see the Eagles haven't killed all the Loon chicks this year:

Andy caught a couple nice Northern's...yummy!

Arts & Crafts time!

Battletubing!

Boat is running great with Mike H's carb, so that's been a sigh of relief for me.  I'll get my carb fixed up when I get back, and it'll be all ready to go.

The replacement water pumped leaked, that's plenty frustrating.   Good to hear Goldie is purring, makes better memories with family that way.   The water looks great, also good to see someone fishing out of a Glastron/Carlson, thought it was just me that found that acceptable.   Enjoy your time with family, the kids grow up far too fast.

If it floats...you can fish from it! (that's my rule anyway..) The CVZ makes it a bit nicer, one kid in the bow, one on the stern.

Water pump had a drip from the bottom of the thermostat housing, looked like when it was cleaned up after casting, that it was ground down too far.

Napa was good to me, gave me $50 off as I wasted a good 2 gals of antifreeze figuring that out...so my total bill was $85...not too shabby in my book.

Glad the trip is going well! I would probably fish off of Phoenix and Fawkes if I was more of a fisherman.

Thanks for posting pics of your vacation Doran. Figured you were a little too quiet and must be doing something fun.....other than working on chevys!
