Records? You're a musician? Really? Hey, do you play with this group? https://www.facebook.com/somuchyes?fref=ts
Is this their website? http://www.somuchyesmusic.com/

Seems like people should maybe go investigate and like and follow that, just for good measure?

This is all very interesting to me.... lol

anyway....

Your CV16SS is sick. Gold. With the Volvo rig. Don't see them every day. It's a less seen combo for sure.

I'd be happy with your rig -I'd just be lookin to add power trim.... I was askin these guys cause I figure when we do your transom, that'd be the time to add it if we can get it sorted - which, I'm sure we could figure it out... might be a different transom assembly setup, or just the outer ... not sure... but we could certainly do it - mine didn't have it originally... now it does....

Anyway....

Thanks guys! We put a lot of work and time, emotion, and soul into this project.

Bellows are in the mail and will be here tomorrow. I'm doing them first thing Sunday morning, then running her again all day.

I'm doing U-Joints and Gimbal Bearing at the same time.... any pointers on pulling a Gimbal Bearing out? I've never done it myself. I watched a guy do it once, but it's been so long I don't remember how he removed it. Is there a retainer???

I made a 'mini' extractor using the 'loan a tool' axle puller from AutoZone...and 2 bolts...just backed it right out.

For reinstallation, and credit to Jeff Rockwell...I used allthread with a piece of steel on the inside, then the gimbal bearing, a piece of PVC, another plate I found at Home Depot, washers and pressed it back in...I think it was less than $10 and beats all the banging on the transom.

Right on, I should have all the goodies around to handle that. Have some pullers, cups, etc...

Thanks :)

depending what bearing you bought you may have to make sure to line u the grease hole with the zerk in the transom plate
I think this has become an addiction.

I used a slide hammer with the teeth jaws in through the center of the bearing. I used my alignment bar with the bearing installer adapter. You simply put the adapter at the end of the bar, put it up agains the bearing and tap her in.

You have an alignment bar right Shorty? You would have needed it with your 140 install. It's also nice for the gimbal bearing install as it helps to center the inner race with the splice on the coupler before installing the outdrive.

I'd get a bar, it's got to be perfect or you are gonna wear out the coupler and maybe your new gimbal bearing. You are welcome to borrow mine......you just need to get to Hudson!

Ahhh.... dang.... hmmm... ok... I'll do my u-joints, and wait on the gimbal till I can get my hands on one...

Like I said, I'd just be doing it for good measure. not needed right now, so it can wait

thanks for the info!

New bellows installed.. Gimbal installed and aligned. Gonna run her around again tomorrow, but I don't anticipate any problems :)

Super stoked to get to the meet :)
