I dig the blue too Gil, but boy I dunno. There're an awful lot of stress cracks in this thing, led a tough life.

Don says he's got almost a gallon of some super duper white he'd let me use. Thinkin shoot the deck white, then lay some blue metal flake vinyl stripes? Mebbe a couple on either side of the hull as well? (Like the one pictured earlier with the Chrysler on it?)

Got some more goo on. Yeah I know it's hot and sunny. Windy today too so now I'm violatin TWO directions. But dang it I just cain't wait!

Lookin like two applications oughta just about do it.

According to Don they now have some newfangled kinda 1/8" tape with a thin wire buried inside. Lay that down first, then lay your vinyl on top. Then ya ya yank up on the wire and it cuts/trims the vinyl perfectly. Brilliant! Why didn't I thinka that?

Fwiw I'm kinda diggin a reverse kinda stripe like the one(s) I invented ...

Sometimes I start with 220 wet or dry. It is available here.

I thought 220 too David. Cain't seem to find none nowhere. Kinda like Bunny Bread I spose. Used to be my favorite, now I'm told they don't make it no more. I think this is all part of a conspiracy intended to drive me completely insane.

Y'know Bunny made hamburger and hot dog buns well as sandwich bread. All good. What happened? Used to tell the kids Bunny Bread was made from real bunnies. Spose that had anything to do with it? ...

Which reminds me. Did y'all hear bout the rabbit escaped from the lab? Was befriended by some wild ones. Hopped around and ate carrots and reproduced with them all day long. That night announced he had to go back. His new friends exclaimed, "Why!?" He said, "I really need a cigarette" ...

But I digress

Yes I know Gregg, but there are just so many distractions these days. Oreo's made in Nova Scotia, Twinkies banned. The Bunny Bread debacle. Where will it all end?!

Okay I'm back. Imo there is no better close quarter scraping tool for softened paint on fiberglass, than my patented sawed off plastic chopstick. If'n it starts gettin dull just nip a lil off'n the end ...

Today's progress: Whatever that black stuff is they laid it on thick. And it kinda thumbs its nose at the Citrus strip.

Fwiw the present consensus is to scrape off all the white. And as much of the black mud as possible. Then lay a buncha clear on top.

I don't know about covering that beautiful blue flake. I'd try and save as much as possible and work some sort of striping vinyl to cover the troubled areas.

Yes, you would not want to call your boat "Tar Heels" or "Black Stuff"
