Not knowing what a 1977 CV23 looked like ... Found a few pictures of vinyl covered one's and thought they were modified ...
Looks like that's how they came ...

The hull stayed the same over the years. The interior layout and design changed quite a bit over the years though.  Between the Jet interior layout, the different opening to the cuddy, dash layout,  windshield options, and paint schemes there were quite a few changes. The last pic you posted is exactly what the dash looked like in mine. 

I will be doing plexiglass behind the gauges, and I am painting (flake) the area where the switches are like they did with some of the later models.
I think this has become an addiction.
