Hi Guys,

My first post here, so please bare with me. I'm just starting on a 1971 GT150 that I bought Saturday. I've been wanting/looking for about 4 years now and finally found one to restore.

The original seats and bases are long gone, so this thread was candy for the eyes! I could use some help with the dimensions of the bases. I've downloaded the PDF's that were kindly linked above, but I cannot find details about the base length, base width, and heights for front. middle, and rear. Inputs and more details are needed and appreciated. Thanks in advance....Gordon

Hi Gordon .. and welcome to the forum …

If you put the down loaded PDF files on a thumb drive and bring it to a banner / sign printing shop they can print out full sized patterns from the PDF's. Just cut them out , trace on your wood and cut.  My local UPS store can also print them, so check with them if you can't find a local print shop.

Thanks Gregg. I did not know these were scalable. I'll give that a try.

Another question - I've looked for a left/passenger seat view in the brochure links you have in another thread. I cannot find an image where the profile of the 1971 passenger seat is clearly shown. Does the 1971 GT150's passenger seat have the low front profile, or is this just for the driver's seat and shift/throttle control clearance? See image for explanation of my question.

I was told by the guy that gave them to me they were full size patterns. There huge at almost 5 megs.
Pictures below are CV seats, but same basic design just a little bigger.
The dip and cut out on drivers side is for the throttle control and cable to have clearance.

I'm getting ready to install my floor over the stringers and keel, then install a new ski locker. On page 7 of the above linked "Glastron factory build sheet" are directions and a drawing showing "vent tube" 4" above floor. This tube comes from the keel area and up through the floor. Question - What purpose does this vent tube serve? I'm building a "dry keel" boat that will have US Composite's 4 lb closed cell foam tightly sealed under the floor. Were these GT150's built with a wet keel?

Another thing I saw in the build sheet is the use of foam "Logs" in the keel area. Why those and not tight fitting not spray foam? Were those used for a wet keel that would drain? Were the logs of a tighter foam that would not absorb water as would the period's spray foams? This is at least the 2nd rebuild and several shortcuts were taken in the last build, so I don't trust what I saw during the tear down. Thanks, Gordon

Some have found vent tubes and other have not.
Guessing it vented for water to drain under floor when stopper are removed and hull is full of water.
All that I have seen .. had the foam logs under floor, with foam box's on corners of stern, foam logs also line under deck on some models.
Pictures of logs under floor are a V156 boat.

Wow, those are some great drawings for anyone with a GT, especially for those performing a restoration.  Any chance such drawings are available for other models?
