Title: 1974 Glastron Carlson CVX16 Purple "Plum" Carpet replacement
Post by: jefftibbetts01 on May 03, 2022, 11:36:22 AM
I am replacing the original carpet in my Glastron. I have owned it since the early 80's and am trying very hard to match the color.
Any help on the interior would be welcome. Especially carpet color!

Search "Pink Marine carpet" on Google .. Send for samples ..

Drape Kings

Maybe "Pinata"  ?

Ovation Interior Flooring

Maybe "Aston Pink" or "Rowan" ?

Hyperacme,
Thanks for the information!
Is the picture of the interior from a member?
Also on the webpage there is a video "2013CGOMA #12" with the same exact boat including Mercury motor. Any idea if they would be source for information?

Thanks again!

Jeff

"Is the picture of the interior from a member?"
Yes .. but it's original 1974 carpet.

If this is the CV16 you are referring to .. he redid it over 12 years ago, with white vinyl.

Jeff has been looking for orange carpet for over two years, with COVID and supply chain problems, vendors are waiting for things to catch up.

I sent a PM with Bruce?s contact information but it looks like that?s not going to be helpful, I am redoing the inboard version of that boat but it?s a complete redo and I?m going with a darker purple color I can get you information on that later if you?re interested

Hi Jeff, welcome onboard. The plum has always been one of my favorite colors. But just to clarify - your boat is not a CVX16. It?s a CV16. ;-)

Guys,
you are correct on the CV16 model!
I will take the information on the darker purple when you have time.
I am still hoping to find the original color if possible!

Jeff welcome.

Good luck on finding carpet in color and marine carpet to boot.

I had to go to a automotive carpet to get a desired color.  Then they limit you to 1yd and after ordering the 2nd yard they cut me off can?t order any more.

If you turn up something let me know.

This is the carpet and vinyl samples I have that I am planning on using on our CV 16 V8 when I finally get back to that project. I believe they are darker and less bluish looking in real life the picture does not do them justice, the label is from the big sample of carpet it?s really stiff commercial carpet, but I?m not happy with the the Marine carpet I?ve used on the last few projects so I thought I would give that a try. The small sample is something Jeff got me he could comment on where it came from.
