necessity's a Mother

When we bought Dottie's 68 Impala, both armrests were broken. I tried to repair them, but nothing I did worked. I can buy any part for that car new, except the armrest because it's a SS and has a longer one. The regular ones are available, so time to make something.
I took the new armrest, cut it and added a 5" section of the old one. Some really good glue from the hobby shop, a little extra reinforcement in the back, some paint and a new long armrest.

No kidding? SS armrests are longer? Who would have thunk? Seriously, I didnt think they changed the interiors much other then some badges and maybe a console with buckets. Huh....

The screw holes were striped out so it wouldn't tighten. I took my cut-off wheel and made a slit, pried it out with a screwdriver and put a speed-nut in. TAA-DAA
