Good Deal Chris
your camara captured some of the sparkle, mine won't do that very well
I'm wondering how many miles it is on down there, how long will the boat be at sea

The new owner has said it will be about 10 weeks at sea.  It will be the end of the boating season by that time I would imagine down there.

Ya, that baby really does sparkle!!

Is a Scimitar like a CV23 and not have transom loops for the straps? I help can't help but feel the pain of those vents!! I hope she makes the journey safe and sound.

I was thinking the same thing about the bilge vents.

I've never put the straps thru the cleat, but when they go over the cleat they barely/hardly touch the bilge vents, but I think they will make the trip OK, one thing ... they won't blow off  :)

They wouldn't ship that on on open deck would they? Wouldn't they put it in a container?

It was planned to go in a container originally.  It would not fit though.  Trailer and boat are both too wide.  It will be shrink wrapped and placed in the hold of a ship.

The strap was not on very tight and I could slip my fingers between the vent and the strap.  The vent is in a slight recess along the rear of the boat which also helps.  The shipper will strap the boat down themselves to the trailer after wrapping it.  The strap came off after I got to the shipping yard and the vents made the trip fine.  California is pretty strict on enforcing towing laws.  55 mph max while towing and transom straps are required.  My brother bought his CV-19 over in California and got a ticket going 62 mph in the second lane from the right, both were violations.  I think he said it was about a $300 ticket.  I am over here a lot and most always towing something.  Driving 55 mph is sure good for the gas mileage but sure seems like a crawl compared to the rest of the traffic.  The other drivers are fairly sympathetic to towing though.  I have never had much of a problem getting cut off or not allowed to merge.

Ever tried to parallel park with a trailer..... it is challenging!

.. it is what it is ... and that is how it should be!
