Man I hate when that happens
« on: April 26, 2014, 03:38:03 PM »
Guy backed out of his spot right into me at Walmart. Creased her purty good. Dang it all! Just what I needed ...? Good thing there was plenty of witnesses, called the cops too.

Just ticks me off cuz the ole gal still looks purty good. Well, did look purty good. Just had the sob washed!? Ah well ...

Well Doug if creasing is what you need I can come down and crease the other side. That would make both sides even.

Doug, you seem to have all the bad luck. Are you the sacrifical lamb for 2014? Hope things change for the good.

Boy I hope not David. The truck can be fixed, but this problem with my gut sure has been a grueling experience. Weighed myself at Publics again today. Still @ 147lbs. Though I am eating a lot more? Worst part is I feel like it was all muscle that I lost. Need to get some endurance back. I'm tellin' ya by the end of the day at the shop I'm whooped!

My 2002 Toyota Celica has had body damage four times. My son scrapped the driver's side backing out of the garage. My wife scrapped the passenger's side backing out of the garage. I banged up the back bumper forgetting my 1987 Celica was in back of me. And the front fender was scrapped by a man who walked accoss the front of my car, got into his car beside me, and turned into my car pulling out.

Doug, hope you are feeling well soon. Maybe get a doctor's advice about vitamins, exercises, or just plain walking.

Yeah I'm following the Docs instructions explicitly. Far as the meds'n supplements go, I take like 6 pills every morning. More in the PM.

My "diet" is bland & boring. Not to mention it includes crap I can't stand. Yogurt? Urrp! Good news pasta is legal so I been piggin out on noodles, etc.

Good to hear your doing better Doug ...
Try crushing up a granola bar into yogurt, unless that would be bad for your digestive system ...

Have you tried Yoplait's  "orange dreamcicle" , "key lime"  or "pina colada" ?

Ain't that a fact. Too bad we have to wait til November to vote it in here in FL. Then it'll be the Law. There's overwhelming support for it.

Keep in mind we're talkin' "medical marijuana". As in prescribed by a Doctor. Not "recreational marijuana". Big difference. Bummer ...

Hey are you ready for this? Guy that ran into the Ranger is playing 'hard to get'. What a dumbazz. Guess he forgot I have all his information, plus the cop report, plus I'll bet Walmart's got it on video. Happened right in front of their freakin front door!?

I'm this close to calling his insurance company, but he said he'd come by the shop tomorrow. He cancelled an appt this am.  If'n he don't show tomorrow? I'm lettin him have both barrels!

What, does he think I'm gonna forget about it? Why do people have to act like such peckerheads these days. I just don't get it ...?

Why would you wait?  I always file a claim immediately...that's how it works.  Don't buy the sob stories about his premiums going up etc, etc.

Its about protecting your loss.

Well Doran. He said he'd pay for the damage. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. But if he doesn't show up with some cash tomorrow? It's insurance game on.

You oughta see the estimates(4): Low of $772.54 to a high of $1233.88. Personally I don't think he's gonna like any of em ...?

I would only show the high estimate, because if you go get it fixed by a shop and they find additional damage and there is no Ins company to bill. Guess who gets to pay for it then. If you plan on fixing it then have him pay the shop bill to make sure it is all covered. To me it sounds like someone without ins. Unless you already have a really bad record a claim for 1,000 is not going to raise your premiums that much. Just my opinion.
I think this has become an addiction.

Thankfully I've never had to use my car insurance for anything beyond vandalism and theft, but wouldn't Doug's company pay for his repairs to get him on the road as quickly as possible & they file a subrogation claim against the other driver's policy?  I do have experience where homeowner's policies have done this - for example, a water line broke at a client's home and flooded the entire ground floor.  Her insurance company paid the claim and got repairs taken care of immediately - then, they came to me because they wanted my liability coverage to pay for the broken line … between the client's insurance and mine, the broken water line was removed and tested at an engineering lab and came back as defective materials …. so me and my liability company were off the hook and her company went to the manufacturer for reimbursement on the payments made to her in the claim …

Depends on if its a no-fault state or not.  When we were rear ended a couple years ago, (kids...don't text & drive), everything was paid for directly by his insurance.  I called mine and let them know, but it was 100% handled by his company...my ins. company and agent never touched it...never had a claim hit my policy.

My Marauder was hit about 1.5 years ago. Did the same thing as you. Got the cops out there to wright a police report. He admitted fault right there (well, after the officer got him talking straight!) I worked completely with the other guys insurance and got it taken care of very quick. Never even mentioned it to my insurance company. I got a couple estimates, his insurance cut me a check, then I had my buddy fix it for 1/2 price! YAY! More boat money!

Your truck is completely driveable the way it is. I would call his insurance to get things rolling. Leave your's out of it.
