This 1979 glastron jet bass boat is quite unique . Powered by a high-performance factory built GM 403 with a golden eagle Jacuzzi high volume pump produces tremendous amount take off . Boat has 93 original hours it is an excellent working condition . Was wondering if anyone was familiar with this type of boat by Glastron . The hull is a Glastron aqualift 2 deep v

Very COOL boat !
Have you checked the right side of stern, just below rub rail for HIN ?
1973 and newer would / should have the HIN there by law.
If there is no number, check here for other places to look ..

I think ... 1977 was last year that Glastron offered Tri Hull's in larger I/O models.
I think ... Glastron never offered a Tri Hull jet drive boat.
Glastron never list any other drive options, other then Berkeley Super Jet.
But brochures have been wrong .. LOL
I can't make out your reg. numbers, but looks like your in USA.
The recess on transom looks interesting though.
Just guessing ... But might have had passenger side console removed and motor / drive replaced in a early 1970's Glastron Tri Hull.

There is a vin # on the right side . I am the second owner the boat Texas Registration tag

Hull was made for jet pump . It’s not mounted using a boot .

I talk to Indmar about the engine. Traced numbers on the gm 403 . It was built t gm s special application plant For marine application . Indmar built aluminum free heaters and risers .

Your boat isn't a Glastron ..
If it were the first three letters of manufacture code would be " GLA " ..
Can't find anything with " DSO " code you posted.
Also the HIN has to be 12 digits, one you posted is only 11 digits.
Do a Google search for " Boat Hull ID numbers " and plug in your HIN.

Looked up DSO in USCG MIC database. Found this Desert sports center? Appears to be no longer manufacturing?

Glastron boat Company in 1979 made there boats in Texas correct. Then could this boat be a Glaston prototype thats not showing up on records as a mass production boat . If you look at the boats characteristics especially the hull you can see glastrons design similarities. But thanks for spending time looking for information to say it’s not a Glastron . I believe. It’s a one of one custom Glastron boat . built with the best hardware and materials . The craftsmanship reflects that of a well built Glastron . Thanks for the help in trying to identify the boat .

Maybe someone with knowledge of Prototype glastron boats of 1979 could have information about boat or custom one only Glastron boats that were custom built for customer . ? I believe this boat was built by Glastron boats and customized for a client who wanted something totally different and before it’s time . Everything on this boat is of the highest quality of it time . There are some of the best or better put the best of the best glastron boats I’ve seen on this forum . Really cool boats

First welcome on board!
But I will second the posts before - it is not a Glastron. Besides the obvious wrong HIN code the part above the rubrail up front is too high, the rubrail itself is missing the bow cap and has a full rubber insert instead, the stern is completely different from any Glastron of the same period, wrong jet company, engine cover and rear area are not like any other Glastron, dashboard and gauges (were already black/white/blue on plastic dashboard, no more chrome), vents, cleats steering wheel and railing are not Glastron correct either.

I admit it has several strong correlations to the Glastrons of that time frame, but it also has several differences I cannot account for, the engine, drive, stern, and dash just don't line up with historical record. Could it be a one off copy or prototype design, I don't know for sure. I've looked for awhile to find one of that vintage that identifies the origins, but have failed in that attempt as well. One thing for certain, it is a nice boat you can be proud of, and it's in exceptional condition. Enjoy your boat, and maybe for fun dig into it's history a bit more and let us know. Thanks

comparing to my 1975 v-179. There is a lot of similarities at first look. But after looking closer it appears to be close to the same hull design, but there are major differences around the rub rail area as others have said.
Looks like a beautiful boat and I would be curious to see how that hull design handles with the jet since I know how flat it runs on the water with an I/O
