boarding ladder for 85 intimidator
« on: June 07, 2021, 10:24:22 PM »
Need help finding ladder. I believe the 85 came with a ladder because the mounting screws are there, but have had trouble finding one online to work on the angled transom.

Someone may be able to help if you share some pictures of your mounting screws and ladder location.

I'm in the middle of restoring a Timi, and my ladder is currently off.  I could take some measurements and/or photos of mine if that would help.  All the holes have been smoothed over in prep for paint, but I could pencil mark the locations of you need them as well.

Thanks guys, this is great help. The ones that i find online looks like they would push under when you used it. I hated to order one not knowing if it will work or not. Thanks for the help. I am still looking for the trim piece that goes around the ski pole. Ihave a guy that can make me one but mine is broken in to many pieces.

There were holes in my 84 in the same location indicated a ladder was there but did not come with one.

Our 88 had holes for the ladder too, but no ladder.   I always assumed the Prev Owner broke or was stolen.

Yeah, the po removed the “destroyed” ladder and installed this one. Pretty easy to climb and get back into the boat.

Does the ladder sit okay on the deck top when folded?  I was looking at those but was trying to find something close to original. It is getting harder to get back in the boat without a ladder. My other option was to get younger.

As you can see, the po moved the grab bar to the rear and used a Velcro strap to secure it to the bar. I will add, the bar makes it easier  to climb back into the boat

This ladder here was used by Glastron in the early 90s, shown attached to our GT150. The 91 1900, and 92 16CSS both have the same ladder. As the design of that part of the hull is nearly the same on all these sporty Glastron Carlsons I think this ladder would be a good choice, unfortunately they are a little hard to find and I’m not willing to part with the one I have. It’s nice and compact, looks decent, it doesn’t hang down as far as one might like, but being old and overweight I can still get in all of our boats with this unit.

Btw, the po had a plasma table and cut, I believe, 1/2” stainless supports to thread bolts into for strength against the fiberglass  And I can tell you that with the motor in, it’s very difficult to do by yourself, not impossible. The blocks I believe were about 1 1/2” by about 4”?
