Adding seats in a 1973 Glastron CV-16
« on: June 11, 2021, 12:13:34 PM »
So I am attempting to add seats to my boat (which is one of my many parts of restoration haha!).

I am going to try to put a couch flush with the back of the boat, however I have no idea how to go about this

I'm debating designing it to sit on the top strake and use the small amount above to the edge of the top of the boat as to where I mount/put the backrest and the large area underneath the seat for storage and have a center bulkhead to hold up the weak structural parts in the center of the bench.

Has anyone done something like this before or have any opinions they'd like to share?

Here are some pictures of what I'm referencing

See this one? Interesting idea. No matter what you do even 4 people in these boats is very crowded. Might just need a bigger boat if you want room for more than 4.
