motor going in

melinprov:
I got a used oil cooler from Holland-- even with shipping it was cheaper than e bay-- and put it on, it solved my problems. I test ran it for 30 mins and the temps in the engine were 30-40 degrees lower so in she goes. I also found that the engine was ingesting air at the front of the fresh water water pump elevating the temps. Still having a hard time lining up the motor mounts any tricks for that? the boat is flat to the ground now and I just cant seem to line the motor mounts up
( yet ) still a lot of small projects to finish on this !

Plugcheck:
Not being familiar with your specific model, but by looking at the photos, it appears the rubber engine is offer, or possibly took a set previously.   I would suggest lifting the engine high enough to clear and try rotating the rubber mount to see if the alignment gets closer.

I was thinking it may need to be installed with the mounts attached to the engine, then bolt to the floor.

wasn't easy but just playing around with the chains on the lift and the load leveler and the height and moving the one adjustable motor mount did it, I would not have thought it would be so hard. When I checked the manual they suggested to put the bell housing on first and then bolt to that, otherwise the manual says something like level the engine to the floor just above the mounts and lower it. Had to rush it into the garage as we got hit with a thunderstorm just as I got the mount on. Not feeling alone though after watching guys struggle with it like I did on youtube

I could not post this photo before, here is what it looks like now in the boat. I'm waiting on a spacer ring that I accidently destroyed while I was putting in the engine, it should be here in a few days and then the drive goes on
