Hey from East Texas!
Palestino:
After a month of paperwork, many pleases and thank you's, I finally got this baby home last Sunday night. What an ordeal. Bought online from dealer in AB Canada. Had it transported to Texas. After finally examining this boat it seems to be a rare, Extremely good condition 1988 CVX 23. Hull bottom has a couple scratches on the pad but remaining is without spot. Interior and Cuddy is Excellent condition. Must have been garage or barn kept unused for many years. Maybe someone on here knows the story about this beauty???
Purchased from Alberta Marine. I think they took in trade sometime last year.
Some questions for experts here:
1. How should I treat the motor before starting? Not sure if its winterized?? Change Oil? What else.
2. What do I need to do to un-winterize and get this baby in the lake?
3. Best cleaner and conditioner for the old vinyl interior?
Can't believe I finally own one of these classic beauties. Happy I can finally show it off! Appreciate all your help in advance.
Tim

Plugcheck:
Winterizing or in winterizing depends on the outdrive, I'm fairly well versed in the mercruiser drives, not so much on the OMC. Was thinking they had a unique fresh water system? Spend some time becoming familiar with the cooling system you have. Winterizing is basically removing the water or replacing it with RV antifreeze. The block and exhaust will have drain plugs. Check over the engine and drive lubrication. Consider a new fuel filter. Since it's new to you, I'd check everything, plugs, wires, battery, cap/rotor, etc. Good luck and congratulations on being a Glastron owner
dorelse:
Check the oil, if it looks good, lower the outdrive, hook up the muffs & turn on the water and start it up. The pink antifreeze will be pushed out as the impeller circulates through.
If it doesn't have pink antifreeze in it, but the block was just drained & left open, then close up the petcock's in the block and repeat what I said above.
