Hi everybody!
I am in the process of installing a stereo and amp in my CVX-18. I'm looking for advice on where to put the various components.
If anybody can share ideas/photos of what they did, that would be great.
Although there is not a lot of storage space below the bench seat, that's where I am thinking about putting them. I have two 6.5" marine speakers ready to go.
My next question would be where to put the stereo and amp. I don't want to cut the dashboard. Here is the equipment I bought:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZWHVWS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm thinking about making a separate panel up by side of the driver's seat to install the main unit on receiver, and then installing the remote back on the bench seat for passengers.
Thoughts/comments/suggestions appreciated!
I'll post photos as I go...

Shawn put his radio under rear storage cover, your amp might fit there.

I would tend to agree to not cut the dash, besides which, it ends up being a bit far from the helm position to operate. Many have opted for a water resistant under dash unit which works pretty well. Just my opinion, but a small center console with some storage, the head unit, and drink holders is a nice addition. I'm not sure I could bring myself to cut into an actual original Glastron center console, but I do plan to make a nice one as described above for my Timi. My amp for the CVZ is behind the dash, head unit in the side by the drive controls.

Install in progress! I should have it finished this weekend.

So far so good! I am almost done with a shelf to go underneath the panel you see here. I'll try to post photos this weekend.

Dave are you thinking about attending the meet this year with your cvx18?

Thinking about coming up for the meetup this year! Its more likely than not, I'm just trying to figure out the slip situation. I posted into the appropriate thread. :D

Here's the stereo install. I'm super happy with how it turned out!
The speakers still need to be permanently installed. Right now I just have them wired and sitting in a couple of enclosures I bought off Amazon.
There is a small fuse panel up under the hood for the entire stereo system, and the entire system has its own separate power switch. That LED light on the end of the switch is really bright, so its easy to see if it is on. The amp, receiver and also an accessory port for the Sirius XM receiver are all on the switch.
The Sirius XM antenna sits just behind/under the windshield. I bought the Sirius XM car kit for this, and the antenna has a magnet on the base. I just glued some strong magnets to the bottom of the deck, and the antenna sits in place.
I hope this gives people some ideas about a stereo install that did not require cutting the dash!
