Lots of threads out there of complete restorations some with major reconstruction with lots of glass work and refinishing. I've never seen any threads, or heard of anyone that has attempted a conversion to an open bow. I suppose there would be lots of considerations like structural integrity, moving the fuel tank somewhere, decisions on whether one would go as far as building a 'Walk-thru' and therefore having to do something with the windshield. I suppose it would make better sense just to buy an open bow boat..., but then again, considering the extent I've seen folks go in restorations, it wouldn't surprise me if someone has done it :)
I've always liked/preferred the open bow speed/ski boats like the CheckMate 'Enticer' (I think it was called that).
If anyone knows of a thread on something like this please pass it along.

I don't have any links to the types of watercraft you are referring to, but I have seen folks do some interesting reworks. There was a Glastron 23 that the cut open the bow, but left the dash. You entered the front like you would be entering the cuddy cabin, but then it was open. Actually looked rather neat. Seen other, smaller glastrons with open fishing boat concept. I have a CVZ-18 that is basically a cvx-18 open bow. They made an outboard version that is the CVZ-19. Glastron had several other open bow models. IMHO, you'd be money and time ahead to purchase a craft with the design features you're interested in rather than building one.

This one is kind of cool .. Could be a SSV163 with windshield and dash moved back like a 1969 GT160.

Glastron Speed boat with 90hp Evinrude. Motor was just tuned up. Also have new cover, tube, ski rope. Live close to a lake if need to hear it run in water. Tags good till 2023. Runs great we just never have time to take it out. stored inside.

In good condition the motor runs good but there’s a problem with the lower end linkage want to trade for a beater car doesn’t even need a heater haha just reliable

CVZ-19, awesome boat. I notice that how down south you seem to have the more reasonable prices for used boats.

Price's are a bit cheaper down south .. and it's the off season also ..
Heard there's extra problems with the covid thing, getting anything across the border.

Those are nice boats to, Glastron assembled quite a wide range of boats.
Your right about that, and even then we tag on 30% for the exchange and then get tagged with duty after that. 3000 boat is 5000 after you get it home :(
Up here nice Glastrons are few and far between.

If its a Glastron/Carlson, please dont cut it up unless its a basket case. Maybe just buy an open bow.

I appreciate your concern/advice, that's where I landed, tonnes of work when there's lots of open bow boats out there.
I don't have a Glastron, but a copy of a CVX16, a DeltaCraft 170XLT.
