Hey G (Glenn, I'm guessin'), welcome.  Nice to see more Texan's up here on this site.  What is the model trihull your runnin?  Kindof looks like a V-166.  We're near San Antonio and usually spend our time up at Canyon Lake.  Ever get down this way?  Been watchin on the ClassicGlastron site, Texas link for any activity.  Not much going on!

If I'm not mistaken, Glenn W is the infamous Glenn Wright from the Tx. Chapter.  Proud owner of a newer Glastron 269 (I think) as well as an older tri-hull.  Glenn is also the moderator / creator of the www.boatrant.com forum.

Welcome!

Mark, It's a 76 T-179, all original, we bought it new and has less than 70 or so hrs on it.

Brian, I  got rid of the new 235, now in the market for a cruiser, hotels were killing me.
A busy place you have here.

Busy is Good!  I would love to work with you and your TX. members to advertise our 2011 meet as the "2011 International Glastron Classic".  I'm working diligently on getting Cor Barda, Auke, and the rest of the Euro club to get over here, and we need to get the rest of the US chapters together as well.  As of right now, we have 8 states represented at this years meet, but I would like to see more of your fine TX. chapter up here...

What say you?  :)

That sounds like a good idea. I was close to coming up with Red so I could keep him awake at the wheel, but I have out of town plans the weekend before and after. I think '11 sounds like it could work.

Glen or Old Red, have you heard from Walt (lives in New York) recently? He was very active on the CGOA for a long time, was very knowledgeable, and had an CVX 18 and a Chris Craft. He then was active on the Carlson Speed site.

Thanks for the welcome, starting to get back in the scene. I got a little dose of "snap back to reality" back in 08 but I am steadily making a comeback with my new business. Hope to get more boating in soon, only been out once this year back in April and it wasn't even with Red.

Good to see a sign of you 'old boys'  again :)  Regarding Walt - does he know about this forum? Maybe he likes the good vibes & peeps here better than where he left off.( the old forum at www.readylens.com/messageboard). Regarding 2011 - When do we need to book our flights???

Re: Walt .. he knows we are here.  May even read from time to time but he has other things going on in his own life and chooses where to spend his time. He told me in the email that is had been a couple years since he ran Shadow Girl.  He's been spending more time on his other boat the 27 ft Chris Craft ..... the comforts are hard to pass up!

The next summer's meet could be incredible beyond belief is the group could all get together somewhere.  We are going to need a lake of our own by that time!!

When do we need to book our flights???

The sooner the better!!!  The 2011 Meet is going to be the biggest international meet in CGOAMN history.  I'm excited just to be able to say that I'm going to be a part of it!

I'm expecting over 150 people and 60+ boats...

Heya, Glenn ...
I lived in New Braunfels for several years, moved south to San Anton ... spent many, many afternoons and evenings on Canyon Lake (4 a week, usually) in my '94 SSV 170.
Looked at your website, too ... LGServices ... nice.  We could have good conversation.  I had a residential Architecture & Interior Design firm while I was there ... we were also the builder (projects in The Pinnacle, Timberwood, Hunters Creek, South Bank, River Chase, etc).  If you still boat Canyon, I can point you out to one of my designs/projects on the south side of the lake - easily visible from the water, even though it is way over head.

I'm working on a spring 2012 meet in southern Iowa ... what do we need to entice the Texans up (other than much cooler weather)?
