Rich, I am subscribing to this thread so I can keep up with your progress. I am impressed with your engine swap.

got a report on what was or is still causing your misfire issue with the 4.3?

Naw, not yet. I haven't run the engine since the making of the last video posted, and I haven't had the time to work on the boat lately. Work and side jobs keep getting in the way. Always the case - no time to work on my boats when I'm working on everyone else's.

Sorry to here that.  I know the feeling. I have a full time job, gone 12 hrs a day.

I do side work on every ones else's car, truck, atv, scooters, engines, and more. So I don't have time to work on other parts of my boat either.
Well, I will keep an eye on this thread, kinda excited to see what u do next
Have a relaxing evening

Got a little done on the boat this evening. I cut out the inner transom wood and gave it a test fit. Then started layering on some fiberglass mat to try to level the mating surface a bit before laminating them together. It will need some more layers and a sanding/smoothing before laminating.

A little more test fitting, some adjustments made to the inner piece of wood, and a whole lot of prep grinding to the transom face before I laminate the pieces together. I hate grinding!  :o

Slapped on 2 layers of fiberglass mat, slathered on some resin on the back side of the inner wood and squished it all together to laminate the transom.

So today I started working on the outside of the boat. Picked up some new sanding disks and began grinding away at the drive hole to flare it in preparation for fiberglass. First picture is the start of the grinding, 2nd pic most of the flaring complete. Third picture shows the addition of resin filler "applesauce" to fill in the inner edges which when hardened will be ground down further for a more gradual flare from outer fiberglass to the wood.

The applesauce has hardened. Next more grinding and by this weekend I should be starting to layer on the fiberglass. This would be so much easier if the boat was at my house instead of 6 miles away.

The grinding continues. It should just about be ready for glassing.

Fiberglass is going on. I've got 5 layers of mat on it so far and it will need quite a few more before it's level with the hull.
